Om maar met het grootste nadeel te beginnen, de kaart is alleen beschikbaar op je GPS, niet op je pc dus. Een route uitzetten is dus in de praktijk niet te doen. Ook is de kaart niet routeerbaar, hij verteld je dus niet welke route je kan varen van a naar b.
Hoe ik de openingstijden van sluisen te voorschijn moet toveren heb ik niet kunnen vinden, ook valt op dat de bruggen en sluizen erg onnauwkeurig op de kaart staan, de weg staat prima op zn plek maar de brug lijkt 40 meter naast de weg over het kanaal te staan.
De detailering is erg matig, zeg maar slecht, het haalt het absoluut niet bij de ANWB waterkaart. Steigers en loskades staan b.v. niet aangegeven, Kano overdraags al helemaal niet. Van mijn 'huisvaargebied' het Oosterdel/Duizend-eilandenrijk staan alleen twee meertjes aangegeven maar de tientallen sloten en vaarten van dit voormalig landbouwvaargebied zijn gewoon weggelaten.
Positief is dat het IJsselmeer maar ook de Zeeuwse wateren en de Wadden tot en met Borkum zijn meegenomen. Boeien en bakens staan aangegeven maar ook hier mis je elk detail over hoe je bijvoorbeeld bij Schier moet aanvaren. De Robbengatsluis (bij Lauwersoog) ga je alleen op de kaart terugvinden als je goed weet waar die zit.
Conclusie: Op binnenwater eigenlijk ongeschikt voor kanovaarders, de papieren ANWB waterkaart geeft veel meer en gedetaileerder informatie, wil je toch met een Garmin GPS op binnenwater gebruik dan TOPO NL. Voor grootwater is het een goedkoper alternatief voor de Atlantic Blue Chart, echter mis je dan wel de PC versie.
